Weekly Parking

Weekly parking tickets can be purchased from each of the long stay car parks using a mobile phone, but are only valid for the car park you purchased it from. If you leave the car park during the week you are not guaranteed a parking space upon your return. Therefore you might want to consider purchasing a weekly ticket from the Island car park machine (see below), or buying a Countywide Rover ticket.

Cornwall Council Weekly Ticket
Weekly tickets that are valid for all long stay car parks are available from the Island car park (look for the separate ticket machine). At time of writing they cost £47.00 for 7 days. Unfortunately purchasing one of these tickets does not guarantee a space.

Countywide Rover Tickets
Rover tickets allow you to park in any Cornwall Council long stay car park throughout the county. They can be purchased online in advance (allow 2 weeks for delivery) or from St Ives Library upon arrival. Be warned that the Library currently has reduced opening hours, so check their opening times beforehand.

At time of writing they cost £47.00 for 7 days, or £94.00 for 14 days. As with the St Ives only weekly tickets, you are not guaranteed a space.

Reserved Parking

Unless your holiday accommodation comes with it’s own reserved parking, please do not park in the reserved parking spaces located in the Cornwall Council car parks. There are a large number of reserved spaces in Barnoon long stay car park which are clearly marked as reserved and usually have a number painted on them. Local residents and businesses pay hefty charges to reserve these spaces and you will be fined by the council for unauthorised parking.

Porthgwidden car park (not to be confused with the Island car park which also overlooks Porthgwidden beach) contains 100% reserved spaces.
